Death Head

Here's something I was goofing around with in photoshop. Probably 100 some small layers meshed together. I'm trying to approach some of this digital stuff in a more painterly style.

you got the painterly down, beatiful colors and textures, is this part of the "Forensic Francis" headshots or just a warm up?

Thanks David, and no, this isn't related to the Forensic Francis stuff I'd menioned earlier. Just an experiment with colors.

This looks like a burn victim, I love how it looks like there's a black spider web layed over the skin in places.

Just remembered you haven't told me what name/contact info you'd like for VV yet.

I'd love to see you post a "how-to" video detailing your process on one of these digital pieces, Aeron -- it's a total mystery to me -- maybe even moreso since the results are so fantastic.

Hey Zeke, use Aeron Alfrey and either or both my email evilenergy at yahoo.com and blog url www.skeletoncave.blogspot.com I can't wait to see the finished product!

And Jeffrey, I'll have to remember to do a post like that soon. I avoid using many filters beyond those that do simple effects like heavy darkening and reverse coloring to merge layers into each other effectively. I consider this on the level of a digital sketch and no where near what I'd normally look at as a finished piece. That said, this does have an hour and a half of insane detail worked into it.

Wow, I just saw this while pretentiously looking up my own name on the new crappy google image search, and I must say: I love this! Very nightmarish.
